I´m hungry

 

Hunger (jonger) = Hambre

Hungry (jongri) = Hambriento

 

En Español decimos ¨Yo tengo hambre¨. Y al principio, usando la estructura del idioma Español, los estudiantes lo dicen mal, así: ¨I have hungry¨

Luego aprenden que en Inglés se dice ¨Yo estoy hambriento¨ = ¨I´m hungry¨

En general, en Inglés no se tiene, se es. Por ejemplo, en Inglés yo no tengo sed, sueño, calor, frío, cansancio, miedo…

En Inglés yo estoy sediento, yo estoy soñoliento, yo estoy caliente, yo estoy frío, yo estoy cansado, yo estoy aterrado…

I am thirsty, I´m sleepy, I´m hot, I´m cold, I´m tired, I´m scarred

 

I eat = I have = I take : Cuando se habla de comer, estos tres significan lo mismo

I eat meatball for dinner

I have meatball for dinner

I take meatball for dinner

 

SOME (+)  AND  ANY (-) (?)

SOME (+) se utiliza para oraciones afirmativas        : I have some cherries

ANY (-) se utiliza para oraciones negativas                 : I don´t  have any cherries

ANY (?) se utiliza para preguntas                                : Do you  have any cherries ?

1- I´m hungry. I need to eat something.

What do you wanna eat?

I´m not sure, maybe some fruit

Which one do you want?

Give me some apples, grapes and kiwi.

 

2- My wife is cooking something delicious. I can smell it.

What could it be, uncle Ralph? My mouth makes water

Let´s ask her about it

Aunt, what are you making so yummy?

Oh, thanks. I´m cooking a meat stew. It has pork, chicken and beef

 

3- Wow! I´m so hungry I could eat a horse

Thanks God we don´t have any horse.

Pancake with syrup. Mash potatoes with gravy.

You know I´m on a diet. The doctor told me to eat healthy food only

Yeah, I know. You really have to lose some weight

 How about some fruit and vegetables?

Veggies, definitely. Get me some lettuce, carrots and cucumber

 

5- Your niece is really hungry and thirsty. Get her something quickly

Let´s hurry up! Let´s get a take out

I thinks she loves spaghetti with meatballs. And to drink...

You know she enjoys drinking orange juice

That´s right. For me, a toast and pineapple juice. How about you?

I prefer lobsters and wine.
